The maintenance of important events

Istead of the introduction

The development of modern marketing is impossible without the use of new technological solutions for television. A new service – "impression delivery" - that replaces «content delivery» is now in demand . The audience requires not only quality image and sound but also special online emotions and experiences.

Technical solutions supporting a substantial number of television signal sources that are processed simultaneously and operate on significant areas are becoming important within this tendency. Therefore such events as expanded sport competitions, mega-exhibitions with participant numbers exceeding tens of thousands of people, city holidays, mass park festivals, etc., have the maximum spectators effect.

Live event broadcasts catered for by thousands of professional TV cameras should be be the sign of not only TV channels, but also internet services. But there are hardly any solutions of this sort in the world market. The reason is simple – very high cost of the process of transportation and switching of high-stream professional television signals.

1. Description of possibilities

Modern exhibition business implies provision to participants of more effective marketing communications with their target audiences at the expense of introduction of new solutions on the basis of computer technologies and the Internet.

The use of television technologies that allow to conduct parallel television bridges-broadcasts from different boards, not only increases the number of visitors but also significantly increases the productivity of information transfer because it allows to minimize the expenses of VIP visitors interested in communication with the participants.

With such service technology each exhibitional board, for example, becomes a miniground for conducting an interactive presentation – a telebridge the record of which is used in marketing practice. A video complex for participant and visitor catering by live broadcasts is formed on the base of an exhibition center. Let us describe the main competitive advantages of the system.

1.1. Multistreaming.

One of the main possibilities which hasn't been offered by any switching system developer so far. By means of a group of switchers, simulcasts to both different network resources and boards are carried out to an arbitrary number of channels by a number of users-directors. It is very important for exhibitions in particular because broadcasting one stream satisfies neither spectators nor users. The system must be able to serve tens of thousands of boards simultaneously in one working day. Otherwise the service does not have prospects. After a certain period, a mass need in a more optimal use of exhibition space will arise.

1.2. Simplicity and flexibility.

The system allows to flexibly increase the number of television signal sources on the exhibition territory for a long time. And to change the «field» configuration in halls thanks to the new routing method just as flexibly. On every board a remotely controlled switching system serving 10-15 cameras (depending on the «immensity» of the board) is mounted. Each board is covered by the simultaneous service. The number of users-directors is determined by the number of simultaneous presentations. At that, one director can serve 7-10 boards. Obviously, the presentation cannot be infinite. Besides, the switching system is able to automatically «split» the program (the "autopilot" mode) into frames without director's intervention .

The procedure of «construction» of each user «star» for a common «network» is accomplished by the preliminary booking of a board participant several days prior to the opening. It's not a problem if someone wished to be "connected" right during the exhibition. The connection procedure for a particular board will not take more than 50-60 minutes.

1.3. Scalability of the service.

The market offers advanced professional camera heads that have a relatively low price and high image quality. Obviously, in the initial stage of the project (during the first 2-3 years of service promotion) the initial number of sets can be minimal – up to 1000 units. The minimum number of cameras on a board is 5 (close-up of the speaker, medium shot, a shot of visitors, full shot of the board, close-up of the «user's accessory» (a book, a newspaper, a car, a wheel, a computer – i.e. all the things that brought the person to the exhibition). 1-2 of these cameras are operated by cameramen. The rest may be stationary with remote control. The field filming crew per one customer is 2-3 people – cameramen and an assistant.

1.4. Low budget.

Any executants can carry out everything that was mentioned. One may use 100 modern «buses» and clutter the hall with thick wires. But the daily prices of such solutions will not give the possibility to promote the service. The price must be comparable to real possibilities of the customers - exhibiton visitors. A week of operation of the new solutions must not exceed $200 for one user.

1.5. No restrictions on the length of channels.

The system supports the installation of small low-end video transmitters on boards – the size of any board is not a technical problem.

1.6. Recording on a broadcast.

All buyers of a broadcast of exhibition presentations receive the possibility to make a recording to websites. Mounting and re-mounting is impossible due to both the heavy avalanche-like nature of the orders and the fact that every user wants to be served right now, right away. The customer can afford to wait not more than 5 minutes to load the file to the website environment. The buyer will wish to be able to present all the information immediately to his VIP guests by means of instant links.

2. Main services.

2.1. General announcements of the event

Common places like master-class halls, specialized platforms-set pieces for general broadcasts of peak moments of the exhibition to TV channels, large concert platforms, etc., create the possibility of a general broadcast of the show. Cranes, suspension cameras, multicopters, etc., are mounted.

As usual, the live broadcast of general reports about the progress of the exhibition is carried out by a separate group of journalists and cameramen. The TV show begins a day before the official opening of the event. Stand-uppers giving basic announcement information, making interviews with the participants about the preparation progress, etc, work in the frame. Cameras show the final construction phases before the opening. And traditionally every 50-60 minutes there is an advertising section announcing the participation of some customers in the exhibition.

The purpose of the announcement broadcast is to give the interested visitors the possibility to clarify certain details with the help of the participants, make a final decision about the visit of the exhibition, and to ask questions to the hosts live on the internet-broadcast.

2.2. General support of the event.

The same programme continues during the opening day and further. The format of the show is similar to an announcement – stand-ups, interviews, news on the progress of the exhibition, stories about the participants, advertisements.

2.3. Video feedback to conferences.

A direct broadcast of all conferences in separate video streams with the possibility of video feedback to each hall. Each video stream is served by a separate director. In every hall the broadcast is accompanied by close-ups of the performers at the conference, broadcasted to mass media boards.

On the user's website under every stream of the conference hall there is a button for displaying remote user cameras – the possibility of video feedback is provided. An advanced spectator makes a request to the director for the right to ask a video-question to the moderator of the current conference performance. The moment of displaying of the spectators wishing to ask a question is agreed with the moderator in real time by one. The particularly important questions are re-broadcast in replays to both the main program and the large exhibition boards.

2.4. General support of the halls.

The direct broadcast of a "salad" of the described programs to big mass media boards of the exhibition with synchronous literal titre conversion of the sound track.

2.5. Instant media

Sale of instant media in exhibition booths with reports at the conferences.

2.6. Service for every board participant.

A live broadcast of presentations of board participants with the possibility of video feedback. With the help of separate directors the broadcast is carried out to detached players by separate video streams. The order of the presentations is agreed in advance and published on the exhibition website. The broadcast of presentations is implemented in this sequence. The broadcast lasts one hour for one board. The broadcast of the current presentation is followed by an advertising section. During the advertising section the group relocates to the next board.

2.7. New mass service.

Such technical solution allows to distribute the multiuser mode to a theoretically unlimited number of remote users. For example, to provide the spectators of the broadcast with the right to control the detached platform and create his own program via the worldwide network.
